Support and maintain database technology and infrastructure, adhering to the best practices, architectural guidelines and policies.

Physical implementation of databases, storage structures, high-availability solutions, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.
Proactive and reactive performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution of escalated Level 2 issues.
Database administration for off the shelf and internally developed applications, ensuring continuous 24x7 operation and availability in support of mission critical business applications, and participate in on-call rotation.
Contribute to Python/Shell scripts for DB automation.
Contribute to development and support of Database as a Service (DBaaS) offerings.
Contribute to solutions to enhance database reliability.
Participate in regular database capacity planning related to database growth and system utilization, trend analysis, predictive future database resource requirements, and the structured organized reporting of the same.
Work closely with other Infrastructure engineering, product development, business operations, and technical operations teams to ensure delivery of database services within the SLAs and performance targets.
Work well in a team and as an individual with minimal supervision.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
Associate: Minimum of 6 months of work experience or a Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications
Associate: 2 or more years of work experience
Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science or related field
Mid-level DBA experience supporting MySQL databases on Linux
DBA experience managing MySQL replication including source/replica, group replication and MySQL Router
DBA experience supporting Active/Active site configurations
Familiarity with bash scripting, Python and MySQLShell
Exceptional deductive reasoning skills and collaborative problem solving
Curiosity and tenacity to fully diagnose why something went wrong
MySQL v8 database fundamentals and Architecture
Database security management including user access and privileges
Good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Basic performance tuning skills and understanding of performance drivers
Should have good UNIX platform skills and reasonable understanding of network, storage, tiered application environments and security as applicable to Database Management.
Any experience supporting DBaaS offerings will be a plus
Some exposure to programming languages (Python, Go, Java) or prior development experience will be a plus
Exposure to CI/CD pipeline and code versioning tools such as Git will be a plus
Exposure to metrics driven observability tools (eg Prometheus, Grafana) will be a plus
