Job Description

As a member of the Storage Infrastructure Reliability Engineering Team, this position will support, certify, and document storage and backup infrastructure, as well as serve as a Level 2 escalation point for existing infrastructure. This position expected to interact with Systems, Database, Engineering, Asset Management, Product Development, Operations, Audit and Risk, and various groups within Technology. 

Essential Functions:

  • Operate in complex, highly secure, highly available, operations-centric datacenter environments and interact with other technology domain experts as required, to build and maintain the Open Systems Storage and Backups solutions in those datacenter environments
  • Work with other Disciplines to develop Infrastructure Building Blocks based Reference Architectures and standards that can be offered as services to our customers
  • Assist in change management processes
  • Improve the efficiency and help standardize current processes
  • Respond to and resolve incident and problem tickets
  • Document and thoroughly understand the application architecture, system configuration across platforms and interface with various systems and use this knowledge effectively to resolve issues
  • Work closely with customer support team to communicate the root cause of the outage, duration and recommendations or steps to resolve issues
  • Participate in Service Improvement Meetings after an application outage
  • Respond to general inquiries
  • Document the incident in the tracking tool
  • Vendor contact for routine, documented incidents as well as operational problems
  • Provide assistance as required in analyzing the trends and suggesting long-term and short-term improvements
  • Resolve incidents and problems in accordance within defined guidelines and meet operational level agreements
  • Implement change requests and meet project deliverables within defined guidelines
  • Achieve and understand Service Level commitments for all open systems platform

 

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Students pursuing a Bachelor's Degree with a graduation date in December 2025 or later.  
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS/MIS, Cybersecurity, Business or a related field, graduating December 2025 or later 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Monitoring, Tuning, Troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • Experience working on automating infrastructure tasks
  • Experience with designing, deploying and supporting Open Systems, Enterprise SAN and NAS solutions
  • Experience installing, configuring, supporting and maintaining Enterprise Backup solutions comprising disk-based VTLs
  • Experience with disaster recovery as it relates to storage systems and data recovery techniques, including disk replication, snapshots and disaster recovery best practices
  • Superb communication skills with ability to communicate with management & technical authorities
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work
  • Strong analytical and practical analytical skills
  • Strong expertise of automation technologies including scripting: PowerShell, PowerCLI, VBScript
  • Maintains expertise across multiple infrastructure domains
  • Strong organization and analysis skills
  • Validated focus on quality and customer service

Additional Information

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated hourly range for a new hire into this position is $26/hr to $31/hr which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department 

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time. 

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
