Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain high performing ETL processes and Data Marts, including data quality and testing aligned across technology, internal reporting and other functional teams
  • Experience in automation of code deployment across multiple platforms
  • Strong knowledge in Linux Shell Commands and Linux environments (RHEL 6/7, RHCSA/RHCE, CentOS)
  • Experience developing fully automated standardized data solutions at scale with monitoring tools and data quality checkpoints
  • Leverage DevOps to create end-to-end streamline CI/CD data pipelines and workflow orchestration in agile teams
  • Ability to articulate complex architectures to non-technical audiences, management, and leadership
  • Explore siloed, intricate and non-documented ecosystem to identify and map potential new data sources within and outside Visa
  • Articulate and negotiate access to different data sources and systems to build a comprehensive Marketing Data Mart
  • Navigate the
  • Continuously research industry best practices and technologies to develop, improve and innovate Visa data engineering capabilities
  • Evangelize consumer centric solutions and data driven culture through internal training, documentation and by leading sharing sessions across the organization
  • Engage, collaborate, and become a trusted partner of the hub and market teams to identify and address consumer needs
  • Partner with peers in other functional areas (e.g., Products, Technology, Innovation, Merchants, Marketing) and across global and regional teams to execute projects in ways that leverage the breadth and depth of Visa’s resources.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with a BA/BS required, MBA or other relevant Master’s degree preferred (e.g. engineering, computer science, computer engineering, applied mathematics, or other related fields)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 8 years of experience as data engineer with open-source tools
  • Experience in retail banking, payments, financial services, and/or technology industries is a plus.


Required Skills:

  • Hands-on experience extracting and manipulate big data (terabytes and petabytes) using distributed database platforms and tools such as Apache Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, PySpark, and Tuber.
  • Demonstrate experience leveraging open-source tools like Jupyter Notebooks, Presto, and git to develop next level data driven solutions
  • Strong programming ability in different programming languages such as Python and SQL.
  • Proficient with git for version control and team code collaborate
  • Problem solving ability and process creator with strategic focus on replicability, scalability, innovation, and governance
  • Competence in basic marketing concepts and impact on business
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management and network building skills
  • Proactive, self-started and with an explorer mindset
  • Some experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools like Tableau, PowerBI, or other programs
  • Fluency in English/ Spanish (spoken/written). Portuguese is a plus
  • The following skills will be considered as a plus,
  • Experience in developing integrated cloud applications with services like AWS, Azure Cloud, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience of managing/working in Agile teams
