  • Develop and execute security controls, defenses and counter measures to intercept and prevent internal or external attacks or attempts to infiltrate company email, data, e-commerce and web-based systems.
  • Maintain hardware, software and network firewalls and encryption protocols.
  • Administer cybersecurity policies to control physical and virtual access to systems.
  • Perform network security audits and testing and evaluate system security configurations to ensure efficacy and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Conduct penetration testing and vulnerability assessments of applications, operating systems and/or networks.
  • Respond to cybersecurity breaches, identify intrusions and isolate, block and remove unauthorized access.
  • Research and evaluate cybersecurity threats and perform root cause analysis.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of security solutions.
  • Provide information to management regarding impact on the business caused by theft, destruction, alteration or denial of access to information and systems.
  • Position reports to the Ashburn, Virginia office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
 

  • Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics or related field, and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a security analyst-related occupation.
  • Position requires experience in the following:
  • Incident response;
  • Intrusion analysis;
  • Malware analysis;
  • Web application security or security engineering;
  • Malware families and network attack vectors;
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and internet working technology, including packet analysis, routing and network security defenses;
  • Operating systems Windows & Linux; and
  • Network services and applications.
  • Must have GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) certification or other leading security industry certification.

Worksite: Ashburn, VA

 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

 

Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.

 

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $117,728.00 USD to $164,100.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for an annual bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position is eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Employee Stock Purchase Program, FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time off and Wellness Programs.
