Job Description

Corporate IT – Workplace Technology team is looking for an Audio-Visual Engineer to aid design, buildout, maintenance, and support towards conference rooms and specialized AV systems, built around MS Teams. We strive to enhance the employee experience by modernizing our video conferencing systems for the hybrid world. Essential Functions: 
This role’s primary function will be to support the US-West region from our San Francisco office and help drive our global AV standards. The ideal candidate will be able handle escalated AV break-fix issues, aid with solution design, work on office buildouts, participate in AV R&D, and provide the necessary support under our global support model. Helping the team improve efficiency, service delivery, and the end-user experience will be expected. We seek a candidate that can be a major contributor towards the end-user experience, standardizing our systems and practices, and possesses a passion for AV technology.

This role will also be key in representing unified communications (UC), audio-visual (AV) across Corporate IT, in partnership with PMO, Corporate Services, Information Security, and our external suppliers, plus internal stakeholders. We seek someone that is not solely a team player, but demonstrates quality leadership, showcases critical thinking and curiosity while problem solving, contributes to a collective solution-oriented attitude, and maintains foresight of effective communication. 

This is a full-time, on-site position. Employees are expected to work from the office 5 days a week.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of work experience
  • Proven IT AV Support experience interfacing with end-users to fix technical issues, performing preventative maintenance, and improving related processes.
  • Proven first-response experience troubleshooting AV systems, providing end-user training, and providing technical support for corporate events.
  • Proven experience helping with large-scale roll-outs, deploying/installing new solutions, and/or improving operational workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of modern AV fundamentals, signal flow, network protocols, and IT administration.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, experience with data analysis, reports, and presentations.
  • 4+ years as an audio-visual technician/specialist for a corporate enterprise company or AV integration company to corporate clients.
  • Proven L2 troubleshooting of corporate AV systems towards diagnosis, remediation/escalation, and root-cause analysis.
  • Proven L2 system admin ability to navigate admin tools and configure/test changes for both hardware systems and related SaaS platforms.
  • Experience with opening new offices, managing AV integrators in design meetings and on scope deliverables, and performing system commissioning.
  • Experience with AV design, CAD drawings, deciphering schematics, performing design mark-ups, and illustrating ideas in a visual manner.
  • Experience with scaling new processes and creating efficiencies, can lead efforts to improve work streams and conduct operational training.
  • Showcased L3 ability to plan mitigation for deep rooted and/or systemic problems and drive new solutions/enhancements at scale.
  • Familiar knowledge with Windows OS as it applies to corporate AV systems, imaging/provisioning, capturing logs, and using the Microsoft Suite.
  • Familiar knowledge with QSYS and Logitech and their products, navigating internal settings, installing firmware, and uploading code.
  • Familiar knowledge with MS Teams, MTR, and Appspace admin roles (import/export data, CMS, tiered access, license allocation).
  • Related certificates and/or advanced degree(s) are a plus (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD).

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 87,800.00 to 124,100.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
