A Technical & Safety Instructor-I delivers wind turbine technical training and safety courses for internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver training to Vestas technicians and customers on Vestas products and safety programs

• Ensure participants meet all learning goals in Course & Module Outlines, or Training Standards such as GWO, during course delivery

• Independently organise classroom presentations and practical exercises to ensure safe and effective learning environment for all participants

• Travel as required to deliver training to customers and Vestas technicians, at various locations including operational wind turbines

• Develop and maintain competencies and knowledge on Vestas products, policies, and procedures to support training

• Support training administration by completing forms and updating records in a timely and accurate manner

• Support ongoing development and improvement of Vestas technical and safety courses

• Maintain personal development timelines in order to teach courses

Essential Functions:

• Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms

• Regular & reliable attendance

• Ability to travel as needed

• Ability to work and conduct training in wind turbines, climb >100 meters, access confined spaces, and work at heights

Education, Training, and Skills Required:

• Associates degree in a technical discipline, military training, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience on wind turbines or similar equipment

• 1-3 years of experience in the wind industry or equipment similar to wind turbines

• Experience delivering formal training programs, on-the-job style training, or other peer mentoring

• Ability to work under limited supervision

• Respond positively to feedback

• Ability to work in a team environment, regularly consulting with other knowledge experts in order to present accurate and up-to-date information to class participants

• Good ability to plan and organize learning activities to ensure course requirements and learning goals are met

• Good ability to communicate verbally complex concepts to a variety of people, including assessing and checking for understanding

• Ability to navigate company policies and procedures relating to wind technician job requirements

• Specific focus on safe work methods in an industrial environment

• Ability to apply technical knowledge to wind turbine operations, maintenance, use of equipment and tools, and safe work methods relating to work on wind turbines or similar equipment

• Good skills on MS Office products, including Power Point, Word, Teams and Outlook

• Good level of proficiency with Document Management System, capable of locating course folders and files

• Good level of proficiency with Change Request System, able to create CRQ's for course material

• Ability to communicate effectively in English

• Will be required to work and conduct training in wind turbines, climb >100 meters, access confined spaces, and work at heights

• Travel approximately 25% or less

• Possess and continue to hold a valid driver's license

• Able to obtain a passport, and Visa if required

Frequent standing and sitting in classroom, office, simulator hall, at wind sites and in operational wind turbines.
