The Capacity Planning Specialist is essential to setting and implementing the service labor budget across North America, working in conjunction with various levels of internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Capacity Planning: Prepare annual and quarterly capacity plans for the North American Service business in collaboration with planners, service managers, and finance.
• Strategic Advising: Advise senior management on strategies to execute turbine maintenance activities, hire and train the necessary technician skill sets, and meet cost goals.
• Reporting: Report on budget vs. actuals and forecast hours worked and technicians employed to global and regional stakeholders in North America.

• Forecast maintenance work demand for North America across various maintenance activity types in collaboration with subject matter experts and service managers.
• Forecast the supply of labor needs, including the mix of skill sets required, and distribute the forecast to workforce development and recruitment.
• Prepare planning scenarios for senior management and quantify the cost impact of these scenarios with finance.
Establish and implement best practices for the planning organization's medium- and long-term planning processes.
• Participate in global capacity planning forums with other regions to support group initiatives and share knowledge.
• Present and facilitate capacity-related discussions with regional and global service management.
• Perform ad-hoc analyses related to hours worked and labor resource mix.
• Support planning automation initiatives as a subject matter expert in technician time registration data.
Essential Functions:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, SharePoint)
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for creating quantitative models.
• Ability to work flexible hours, coordinating with various time zones
• Ability to communicate clearly in English.
Education, Training, and Skills Required:
• Bachelor's degree required in a relevant technical field (e.g., Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Data Analytics, Operations Management, Engineering).
• A Master's degree or MBA is valued.
• Experience: 2+ years of related experience in fields such as Capacity Management, Operations Management, or Resource Planning. Experience creating Capacity Planning Models for expected demand volume within a manufacturing, fast-moving consumer goods, service industry, or Maintenance Business.
Skills:
• Experience creating quantitative analyses with advanced algebra, statistics, simulation, or machine learning to improve business operations.
• Advanced Excel experience, including the use of linked data sources, pivot tables, function building, and macros.
• Experience with data visualization software such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
• Financial understanding of cost of goods sold, revenue, and contribution margin.
• Communication skills in writing memos, preparing presentations, and facilitating conversations with senior managers.
• Analytical and detailed working approach.
• Self-organization and good time management.
• Knowledge of Sales and Operations Planning is beneficial, but not required.
