Production Team Member - NDT Operator I
The NDT Operator I will primarily be responsible for scanning processes. The position will complete all Non-Destructive Inspections (NDI) required on the bonding locations of the blade. This position will also include NDI on the Trailing Edge (TE) Insert location on the TE side of the blade and Leading Edge side of the blade. This position will be located as part of Post Paint Department and may require other responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment by following all safety protocols and performing routine housekeeping and workplace organization.
- Perform NDI Ultrasonic Testing (UT) inspections on bonding locations of the sub-assembly blade area.
- Perform NDI UT inspections on the TE Insert area of the TE side of the blade.
- Perform NDI UT Inspections on the Leading Edge (LE) bonding area of the blade
- Perform NDI and Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) Visual Testing (VT) on the interior LE and TE bondlines, with use of Rover Camera
- Create Non-Conformances in quality recording database, as needed.
- Perform activities of position as outlined in Production Work Instructions (PWI).
- Perform product quality inspections and make corrections as required.
- Operate material handling equipment, JLG lifts, and scissor lift equipment
- Perform daily maintenance inspections on equipment and correct minor issues, defined in 1st Line Maintenance.
- Coordinate with Group Leaders and other production employees to prioritize products to process.
- Work with assigned production group to complete tasks as a team.
- Communicate quality and safety concerns with NDT Group Leader and Quality Technicians.
- Training responsibilities for NDI trainees and other Quality Control inspector positions
- Other duties may be assigned related and non-related to NDT.
- Maintain personal log of NDT experience hours

Essential Functions
- Standing and or walking for periods up to 3 hours.
- Constant movement and motion that includes working both overhead, below waist and side to side
- Ability to grip and manually manipulate, often with repetitive motion, items such as hand tools.
- Occasional heavy lifting of up to 15 pounds from floor to shoulder height.
- Use of hand tools weighing up to 15 pounds.
- Kneeling required up to 30% of work time
- Ability to see and hear, and must meet requirements for color blindness and visual acuity
- Must maintain annual vision exams
Education, Training, and Skills Required:
- High school diploma/GED
- Able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Documented training and experience hours signed by a Supervisor and a NDT Level III in the following Non-Destructive Testing Method: UT - Ultrasonic Testing.
- Minimum training/experience hours must meet or exceed the ASNT SNT-TC-1A recommendations in the following methods/ levels:
- UT-Level I:(40 training hours / 360 minimum hours in method) annually
- Employment conditional upon passing the inspection skills assessment: General Examination, Practical Examination, and Specific Examination.
