Heavy Equipment Operator III

CO Salary Range: USD 21.50 per hour

General Purpose:

The department itself is fast paced and hands on. Safety, Quality, and Delivery are on the forefront of our metrics that we need to achieve. The blades process uses materials such as fiberglass, composites, and resin. Each department is responsible for a part of the process that is critical in ensuring the quality of each blade is consistent with Vestas' quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • • Operate all manufacturing equipment efficiently and safely
    • Follow Process Work Instructions, Manual production processing, Fit and assemble parts into complete assembly (such as bolts, screws, shafts or bearings)
    • Learn safety and quality improvement processes. Clean and organize work area according to 5S requirements

• Demonstrate ability to meet production standards on specific tasks within required time. Contributes to the achievement of team goals
• Complete tasks with high level of Safety and Quality standards
• Required to be Safety-Minded. Will safely do the right thing, every time, without being told
• Be a reliable team member by showing attendance within the requirements
• Lift, position, and/or remove material from work areas
• Load, stack and transport materials by hand, truck, crane or jib
Requirements:

  • • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos
    • Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for experience requirements
    • Established work history of at least one year in preferably manufacturing
    • Experience working on teams
    • Ability to adapt to a changing environment
    • Set a good example of personal integrity
    • Ability to communicate effectively on the job
    • Use measuring tools and gauges

Nice to Have:

  • Certification in Rigger level 1, Heavy Equipment Operations, Mobile Crane, Welding AWS D 1.1, CDL Class-A
  • General knowledge of Rail/truck transport

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly lift up to 55 lbs using proper lifting techniques.
  • Occasional exertion (push/pull) up to 100 lbs of force.
  • Required to climb ladders throughout the shift using proper fall protection.

Work Environment:

Outdoor work in all weather conditions; work on rail, trucks, other modes of transport; work in an industrial storage yard; snow removal duties.
