Summary:
The responsibility of the Aftermarket Sales Specialist is to manage the sale of aftermarket products and services for Vestas and non-Vestas turbines to customers located within the US and Canada. Vestas supplies turbine owners and service providers with a suite of aftermarket products and services to enhance and ensure the continuous operation of their wind turbine assets. To perform well, the team member in this role will formulate and implement sales strategies for a defined set of accounts and meet sales goals through effective sales planning, coordination, and control. The work requires frequent customer engagement, proposal development, and prompt selling.
Sales and Business Development Responsibilities
• Evaluate the market, identify growth opportunities, and develop strategies to penetrate untapped or under-resourced segments and expand the customer base to gain market share.
• Utilize knowledge of commercial strategies, terms and conditions to generate incremental revenue opportunities and mitigate financial risks.
• Methodically manage a portfolio of accounts, utilizing technical and market knowledge about a defined set of products and services to identify opportunities, prioritize efforts, and deliver tailored solutions set of products and services to identify opportunities, prioritize efforts, and deliver tailored solutions.
• Understand and concisely communicate the value of commercial offerings to customers.
• For relevant sales leads, manage the entire negotiation cycle from signing a non-disclosure agreement to sales closure and contract signature sales closure and contract signature.
• Ensure the sales processes for pricing, quoting, and assigning the delivery of services are adhered to and generate improved customer relationships.
• Develop and leverage a complete understanding of the Vestas value proposition for products and services sold on a transactional basis, including the identification of opportunities for new marketing collateral or tools that support customer engagement.
• Apply specialist-level skills to perform a range of sometimes complex and non-routine work activities to improve, change or adapt existing methods and techniques.
• Analyze customer needs and gaps in the market to provide input on or otherwise recommend product improvements or new offerings.
• Work with internal stakeholders in a global environment to build lasting partnerships and to promote effective sales lead management, sales quoting activities, and sales completion.

Education, Experience, and Competencies Required:
• Bachelor's degree in business or communications, or equivalent technical sales experience.
• Five to seven years of experience in commercial sales, technical sales, or aftermarket product sales.
• Technical experience in the wind turbine industry, power generation, or similar.
• Ability to close deals and negotiate favorable terms.
• Skill in analyzing market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities.
• Knowledge and experience complying with business standards and terms of commercial agreements.
• Ability to handle situations in which professionalism and diplomacy enable the development and cultivation of partnerships with internal stakeholders and customers .
• Flexible problem-solver who can work within a complex business model.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to clearly explain facts, practices, and policies to internal or external stakeholders.
• Able to communicate and exchange information to reach agreement through flexibility and compromise.
• Experience working with quantitative analyses and Microsoft Excel/Power BI.
• Experience working with an ERP; familiarity with SAP and SAP BI suite is beneficial.
• Experience working with CRM software is required, and Salesforce experience is a helpful addition.
