Join Vanguard as a Senior Tax Analyst, where you'll provide crucial tax analysis and support for our funds through comprehensive research, analysis, and tax filing activities. You'll stay ahead of domestic and international regulatory changes, assess the tax implications, and recommend process improvements to ensure compliance and efficiency.
In this role, you'll handle extensive international withholding and treaty work with various tax authorities in foreign markets. You'll work closely with external service providers to secure beneficial tax rates for our funds, manage year-end shareholder tax analysis and research, and collaborate with local tax agents to fulfill regulatory and compliance requirements in foreign jurisdictions. You'll gain tax expertise with a focus on the impacts of foreign withholding tax for both US and non-US funds.

Responsibilities:
- Prepares and reviews complex tax filings processes such as book-tax difference computations, federal income tax provisions, global tax filings, uncertain tax positions work papers, etc.
- Researches and analyzes merger and acquisition transactions. Evaluates tax impacts and provides recommendations to management.
- Reviews and resolves tax issues. Partners with internal and external partners to achieve resolution and ensure accurate tax accounting and reporting. Acts as tax liaison for critical investment operations functions.
- Monitors and complies with domestic and international taxation, tax laws, and regulations affecting global investments of Vanguard products.
- Independently performs analysis of issues and elevates high priority situations for management review. Recommends solutions and process improvement opportunities to gain efficiency. Attends industry and vendor conferences to stay abreast of changes and industry impact.
- Trains new crew members, provides technical guidance and on-the-job training as needed.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years related work experience.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Accounting or Finance degree preferred.
- CPA, ACA, or CTA preferred.
- Knowledge of domestic and international tax regulations
- Expertise in foreign withholding treaties, including documentation management
- Attention to detail in monitoring custodial needs and tax reporting reconciliation
