As we think through how we effectively utilize these capabilities across multiple channels/platforms our clients engage with us today, there is a need strong technical leadership and relevant skill sets. We are seeking a highly accomplished, strategic, and influential leader to work within a cross functional team and manage a group of high performing analytics talent to lead discovery, proactively identify and size opportunities, develop solutions and run experiments to measure impact. This individual will rely on key business partners with Analytics (Data Engineering and Data Science) as well as outside of Analytics (Product Owners, UX, Technology) within an Agile working environment.

A central pillar of PI's success is the CXD group, a group that is passionate about improving client experiences through deep data-driven insights and in truly understating our clients and their omni-channel behaviors. We are seeking a highly accomplished, strategic, and influential leader to be the Director of CX Platform and Intelligence within this group. As a senior leader, you will direct a team of high performing analysts, data scientists, data engineers and product owners to build a system capable of detecting, triaging and actioning on key client friction points within our omni-channel experiences.
Manages the activities of a team of senior data engineers responsible for developing software code that formats, tags, processes, stores and serves data. Manages the development of data pipelines to ensure that they are scalable, repeatable, and secure and can serve multiple groups at Vanguard.
Core Responsibilities
- Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Manages and optimizes the automation of key ETL (Extract / Transform / Load) and quality assurance processes for large volumes of data.
- Consults with senior leaders on the strategies and operating plans. Executes and adjusts plans for team of Data Engineers. Develops a clear understanding of Data Analytics and Management work across Vanguard businesses and how they connect.
- Directs the planning, prioritization, and execution of data production projects and processes.
- Manages the design and development of software and processes to support large scale, efficient data pipelines. Optimizes the availability of data to generate insights and address business needs.
- Monitors and troubleshoots software and processes for data consistency and integrity. Integrates complex and large scale data from a variety of sources for business partners to generate insight and make decisions.
- Develops and exercises cross-functional data delivery to support business needs. Manages data integrity and quality standards.
- Builds and recruits a team of Data Engineering experts across Vanguard.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of ten years business or technical experience including people management and data expertise.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree or PhD preferred.
