An integral part of the Financial Advisor Services (FAS) Divisional strategy and future success is to become more than just a low-price passive asset manager, moving "Beyond Beta" to become an indispensable partner to advisors by delivering more Vanguard resources and capabilities to help them drive better client and business outcomes. Model portfolios are a critical part of the FAS Beyond Beta strategy, as models provide advisors high quality portfolios, backed by Vanguard's best-in-class portfolio construction research and underlying products, while also enabling greater practice efficiency. The FAS models offer currently has $37B in assets under management, with a growing distribution ecosystem and footprint.
As Head of Model Portfolios, this role is responsible for:

- Setting the vision and multi-year offer strategy, including determining the target market and defining the offer value proposition
- Defining the key results, including the annual business plan, OKRs and investments
- Overseeing offer development, including the creation and execution of a prioritized roadmap of offer development (across content, thought leadership, in-person specialists, and digital tools)
- Overseeing offer distribution, collaborating with Sales channel leadership to enable sales efforts, and collaborating with Marketing to increase digital offer access and web/tool adoption
- Manage day-to-day running of the offer, monitoring progress against OKRs and KPIs
- Leading a cross-functional offer team, which includes an extended team of marketing, digital product management, technology, data analytics, and finance.
- This individual will report into the Head of Portfolio Solutions within FAS
Responsibilities:
- Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Guides the model portfolios product strategies and oversees crew working on related projects. Contributes to the development of short- and long-term goals, sets distribution strategies, reviews financial and business performance, and ensures the achievement of business goals and objectives. Analyzes how clients use Vanguard's model portfolios, identifies gaps, and adjusts strategies accordingly.
- Collaborates with internal partners to develop and deliver targeted client strategies, ensure a cohesive client experience, and maximize adoption and effective application of Vanguard services.
- Represents the department's viewpoint when collaborating with internal partners to develop and enhance Vanguard's model portfolios service offer and portfolio strategies. Acts as a liaison to senior management and other divisions.
- Establishes and enhances policies, procedures, and standards of operations to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Serves as an internal and external subject matter expert on the model portfolios and client industries, market conditions, competitors, and compliance, regulatory, and departmental policies and procedures. Contributes to the development of Vanguard's external publications.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
- Eight years' experience in the Financial Services industry or client services preferred. Supervisory experience required.
- MBA and/or CFA preferred.
