Job Description Summary
This role is dedicated to providing specialized, product-aligned support to portfolio managers, serving as the primary point of contact for all investment operations inquiries. The position involves producing high-quality, gold-standard data with a strong emphasis on operational efficiency and output quality.
Core Responsibilities
Portfolio Manager Support:
- Collaborate closely with portfolio managers on assigned products to ensure all operational objectives are met.
- Analyze complex data sets and deliver actionable insights to inform and enhance investment management decisions.
- Monitor portfolio performance and provide timely updates and reports to portfolio managers.
Stakeholder Consultation:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, offering expert guidance on technical and operational matters.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve complex operational issues, ensuring minimal disruption to investment activities.
- Lead initiatives to improve the internal control framework and develop strategic recommendations for process enhancements.
Escalation Contact:
- Act as the primary escalation point for the investment operations teams, addressing and resolving critical issues promptly.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with portfolio traders and managers to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
Process Enhancement:
- Proactively anticipate portfolio events and lead initiatives to streamline and enhance operational processes.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Collaboration:
- Engage and collaborate with internal partners, including compliance, risk management, and IT teams, to provide comprehensive support.
- Continuously develop product support skills and deepen insights through ongoing service experience and professional development.
Event Tracking and Analysis:
- Oversee the tracking of internal events, perform thorough incident analysis, and incorporate findings into process improvements.
- Evaluate existing workflows and recommend enhancements to optimize performance and mitigate risks.
Special Projects:
- Participate in special projects as assigned, contributing expertise and support to achieve project goals.
- Perform additional duties as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience in investment operations or a related field.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. A degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Proven ability to identify and resolve operational issues, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
- Experience with process enhancement and workflow optimization.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
