We have an exciting opportunity in Investment Management and Finance Risk (IMFR) for someone interested in expanding their investment acumen, developing skills within risk management, and building relationships within critical IMG Service and Middle Office teams. IMFR plays an important role to support Vanguard's $10 trillion global asset management footprint.
We are currently looking for Risk Advisors for Finance Risk within our IMFR team which is part of Vanguard's Global Risk and Security Division. Your role will involve working with the leadership of critical functions across the Finance Division and advising on a range of financial, operational, and strategic matters to support risk-informed decisions. This role gives deep exposure to the lifecycle of Vanguard's investments and the fund ecosystem across the globe.

With a number of critical initiatives underway, you will have the opportunity to work with senior leadership to help them understand risk implications while proposing solutions to optimize business outcomes within the organization's risk appetite.
In this role you will:
- Apply conceptual thinking and business expertise to partner with the global finance organization and manage risk for the overall enterprise, funds, and investors.
- Focus on risk globally for the Finance Division to ensure effective and efficient risk management infrastructure to measure, monitor, and report risk exposures.
- Be responsible for advising and guiding leadership on risk matters within the Finance Division and applying risk frameworks and strategies.
- Develop a deep understanding of Vanguard's fund ecosystem. Keeps abreast of current issues in investments and business operations and incorporates changing business needs into risk analysis.
- Manage relationships with divisional leadership and risk partners and impact the future shape of the risk organization. A successful candidate will bring a consultative approach and a solutions-oriented, global mindset to support ongoing operations and change initiatives.
What it takes:
- Investment management industry experience preferred
- 6+ years of relevant work experience
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience required; CPA/CFA or graduate degree preferred
- Broad conceptual thinking with the ability to align risk management strategies with business objectives
- A demonstrated relationship management ability that includes effective communication, consultative problem solving, and influence skills.
The Finance Risk team is located across three locations (US, UK and Australia) with this role located in Malvern, PA. The Finance Risk team also covers risk related to financial operations in Scottsdale, AZ and the Americas, Europe, Asia and Oceania.
