Data Analyst, Specialist (ERO)

In this role you will be building and managing tableau dashboards in support of GR&S's Business and Continuity Management (BCM) team, that is part of the Enterprise Resiliency Office. You will act as a bridge between the business partners (Business Continuity Mgmt) and an affiliated engineering team (data engineers, data architects, etc.). The ideal candidate will be excellent at data storytelling and understanding business needs, while providing requirements to the engineering team to enable you to develop dynamic visualizations to help the BCM organization. In addition to this, you will be able to participate in a wide range of ad hoc analytics and tableau development projects. This role will bring visibility within Risk and IT divisions, and access to learning and growth opportunities.

In this role, you will:

  • Engage with internal partners to understand business strategy, questions, and goals. Bring structure to business requests, translate requirements into an analytical project approach, and lead projects through completion. Delegate tasks and provide tactical and strategic guidance to peers.
  • Acquire and compile structured and unstructured data and verify its quality, accuracy, and reasonableness.
  • Perform analyses of historical data to surface trends and insights using advanced analytical methods. Validate analytical techniques employed by other analysts.
  • Prepare and deliver visualizations and internal presentations that translate analytic insights into tangible, actionable solutions for business partners to implement.
  • Develop, own, and manage recurring analytic or reporting processes.
  • Mentor, coach, train, and develop junior data analysts. Proactively expand knowledge of business and analytics and share with team members. Share and document best practices.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

What it Takes:

  • Tableau development experience - building data visualizations in tableau server or cloud.
  • Executive presentation and Communication. Ability to independently interface with leaders (non-technical) and technical teams (data engineers)
  • Curiosity - interest in learning; comfort in asking questions.
  • Minimum of five years related work experience.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Nice to haves:

  • Data Manipulation: SQL, Athena, Sagemaker, Python, Copilot
  • Tableau: Tableau Cloud, Figma
  • Other tools: Power Apps, Power BI
  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail and an ability to multitask.
  • Ability to mentor less-experienced members of the team
