As new platforms and other mediums emerge for Canadian investors to access investment products, Vanguard is seeking a Partnership Development Manager responsible for establishing new relationships and paths forward to better serve investors. The role will support key activities related to potential partnerships and will report directly to the Head of Vanguard's Canadian business, with a dotted line to the Americas Region CFO & Head of Strategy. The ideal candidate knows how to build and foster strong external networks (usually in close collaboration with Sales), work cross-functionally with internal teams, support partnership negotiations and due diligence, execute partnerships and internal operating models, and perform ongoing monitoring/tracking of key metrics.

Core Responsibilities
Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams, including business head, sales, and finance, to establish strategy and roadmap for partnerships. Identifies and evaluates partnership opportunities by delivering both quantitative and qualitative analysis, including financial models and scenario analysis, to estimate potential value. Recommends partnership opportunities and gains consensus on opportunities that align with Vanguard Canada's business goals and strategic priorities. Leads negotiation of commercial arrangements in collaboration with internal stakeholders. Establishes operating model for ongoing support and responsible for ongoing delivery. Implements process to continuously measure client outcomes throughout lifecycle of partnership. Works independently with attention to detail and sensitivity to deadlines. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of eight years business experience, including significant experience in strategy consulting and financial analysis.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Extensive experience with both conceptual thinking, and analytical problem solving.
- Strong investment acumen.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and persuasion skills, including strong presentation skills to senior management.
- Ability to negotiate commercial deals.
- Canadian Financial Services and/or client service experience preferred.
