We are seeking a strategic and experienced senior application engineer to lead and help execute on a comprehensive migration of our investment management applications to a modern web UI platform.
This role will be pivotal in shaping our technology landscape, leveraging enterprise and departmental standards while driving innovation and thought leadership where guidelines are yet to be defined. You will collaborate closely with architects to create a vision and enable the adoption of micro frontend architecture and facilitate the delivery of a seamless, high-performance user experience. The team will also be responsible for enabling what a defined highly integrated user experience looks like to our users. Finally, the team will be responsible for driving forward a variety of related initiatives including the standardization and adoption of a centralized interoperability layer, the resolution of common cross-cutting concerns, the creation of common components and libraries, etc.

Responsibilities:
- Translate high-level business vision and user experience requirements in an executable migration strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise and departmental standards.
- Lead the design and implementation of micro frontend architecture to enable scalable and maintainable web interfaces.
- Lead a team that develops and maintains shared patterns, components, and frameworks to support the migration and ensure consistency across an ecosystem of applications
- Collaborate closely with architects and tech leads across multiple teams to resolve cross-cutting technical challenges and establish best practices
- Provide thought leadership and strategic guidance in areas where enterprise standards are still evolving, partnering with key stakeholders to shape the future direction
- Influence and mentor engineering teams to adopt innovative approaches while fostering a shared vision for migration
- Drive continuous improvement and remain current on emerging technologies and trends to inform strategic technology decisions
- Ensure the viability of IT deliverables. Recommend development and architectural options and approve the team's technical deliverables. Conduct testing, including functionality, technical limitations, and security. Provide production support for products..
- Mentor IT staff and identify training needs. As new standards are instituted, ensure their usage by team members. Learn, and apply new technology quickly, and is well versed on the latest technologies and tools supporting software development in the industry. Assist with the creation of strategic product roadmaps.
- Review and approve documentation and diagrams created by IT team members. Write documentation, including technical standards and processes.
- Identify opportunities for continuous quality improvement of technical standards, methodologies, and technologies.
- Thoroughly understands and comply with Information Technology and Information Security policies and procedures and verify that deliverables meet requirements. Work across organizational lines to improve both IT and Information Security policies and procedures.
- Maintain a broad understanding of the roles of front, middle and back office, and designs systems to enable efficient business processes while maintaining necessary controls. Qualifications:
- Minimum of ten years related work experience, with at least five years of development experience.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
- React, Next.js, Node.js, Typescript, Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress/Selenium or similar end-to-end UI testing framework, Micro frontend architecture, AG Grid, AWS (S3, lambda, ALB, API Gateway, CloudFront, etc.)
