The Design and Construction Manager is a versatile subject matter expert and is responsible for leading design and construction projects according to US Foods specifications that include Field Welfare (Breakroom, Restroom, Locker Rooms), Training and Test Kitchen facilities and office space facelift and/or remodels. This will include responsibility for managing project scope, budgets, timelines, meetings and quality aspects of multiple projects. This position will lead a collaborative approach, teaming up with internal stakeholders and multidisciplinary consultants in an efficient manner, focused on executing successful projects. This position will also support program initiatives such as developing and maintaining building standards.

The role has been segmented as Hybrid meaning there is a combination of three onsite days per week and the rest remote.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the design and implementation of construction projects to include but not limited to: spatial analysis and planning; budget preparation and compliance; internal/external team assembly; coordinate construction documents (plans, specifications, drawings and schedules); furniture selection ordering and installation; value engineering; prepare and present redesign options for review; obtain and review award estimates; coordinate with multiple internal and external team members and subject matter experts; ensure compliance to USF Facility Standards and construction schedule as well as ongoing reporting for senior leadership; and completion of punch lists and project closeout.
- Projects can include Field Welfare Projects and/or office facilities nation-wide, through collaboration with and supervision of external and internal team members to ensure maximum quality and efficiency at the lowest possible cost.
- Company contact for all branding (i.e., interior/exterior signage, branded walls, artwork, accent colors, etc.) and furniture requests. Contributing Manager of rebranding projects with company acquisitions.
- Administer a variety of contracts related to construction, relocation, expansion, vendor services and others to execute projects.
- Manages USF Facility Closure Guideline to be adhered to by USF staff when addressing divisional closures.
- Participate in Lease and Scope negotiations/review for real estate transactions with the Corporate Real Estate team and internal/external legal counsel.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
Relationships:
- Internal: Frequent interaction and collaboration with frontline leaders, IT, Legal, Finance, Marketing, various Real Estate members and Security.
- External: Frequent interaction and coordination with General Contractors, Subcontractors, Architects, Engineers and Vendors.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must possess a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in architecture design, interior design, construction management, or project management primarily in industrial, distribution, and corporate office projects.
- 25% of domestic travel.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in architecture, construction management, and project management.
Certifications/Training:
- Certified Facilities Manager and Project Management Professional designations are a plus.

- Strong analytical and financial acumen skills: Able to gather data using appropriate methodologies and analyze that data in a manner that valid conclusions and insights can be drawn that assist in making important business decisions.

- Knowledge of office furniture systems, commercial kitchen equipment, audio video applications.

- Computer Skills Required: Microsoft Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Office 365, Teams and Sharepoint.
