Software Engineer II are responsible for the building and/or configuration of software solutions within their business portfolio with little to no oversight and exhibit a mastery of the application and technical skillset subject matter expertise for their area of responsibility. They ensure software is delivered to high quality standards by collaborating with their agile team members and by leveraging unit testing and continuous integration. They are able to accurately estimate work required to deliver software features. They use critical thinking skills applied to solution design and implementation for the delivery of business value. The Software Engineer II role may mentor Software Engineers and Associate Software Engineers.

The Role

• Develop solutions across the full Web application stack (a React front-end and Rails back-end) to meet business requirements.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and design comprehensive solutions and test plans.

• Implement and maintain automated test frameworks, leveraging tools such as Rspec, Minitest, Selenium, Cucumber, or similar technologies.

• Analyze and fix software defects, working closely with team members to ensure timely resolution.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

• Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in software development and testing methodologies.

What you offer

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• Strong experience developing Web applications and APIs with the Ruby language and Rails application framework.

• Experience developing React front-ends with TypeScript.

• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) using Rspec or Minitest.

• Good understanding of cloud security fundamentals and best practices.

• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

• Strong communication skills with an ability to explain complex systems and processes.

Helpful to have

• Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis.

• Experiene building, deploying, and maintaining cloud infrastructure in AWS.
