Are you a strategic mastermind who loves turning big ideas into action? We're looking for a Program Director to help lead our exciting transformation initiatives and work hand-in-hand with senior leadership to drive results. If you're passionate about problem-solving, thrive in fast-paced environments, and can juggle complex projects like a pro, this is your chance to shine!

The Program Director, Strategy & Planning, will support the Total Leave Senior Leadership Team, providing executive-level assistance to VP and SVP leadership. This role will lead key strategic initiatives, manage cross-functional projects, and ensure alignment of business strategy with functional objectives. The position also includes responsibility for facilitating leadership decision-making, managing project execution, and overseeing executive communication efforts.

Hybrid: 3 Days Onsite at our Portland, Maine or Chattanooga, TN campus

Job Specs:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in business strategy, consulting, operations, or communications.
  • Strong understanding of the Financial Services industry.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and influencing skills, particularly at the C-Suite level.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to develop and implement action plans.
  • Proven project management skills with a focus on execution and results.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, adapt, and execute in a fast-paced environment.
  • Expertise in building solid business relationships at all levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage key strategic initiatives to align business strategy with functional goals.
  • Facilitate leadership problem-solving sessions, ensuring timely decisions and action plans.
  • Coordinate and execute cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Develop and monitor program risk scorecards, providing regular updates and risk validation.
  • Manage executive-level reporting, including the preparation of quarterly management reports and business case development.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure timely project updates and the achievement of objectives.
  • Provide leadership and direction across multiple teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Serve as a liaison between workstreams, stakeholders, and the executive team to drive project success.
  • Oversee the creation of executive communications, including presentations, reports, and speeches.
  • Represent the senior leadership team with professionalism in all internal and external communications.
  • Act as a role model for project management excellence, promoting a focus on financial value and business metrics.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$89,900.00-$169,900.00

Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
