Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and guidance for the team of software engineers and stakeholders
- Own the data architecture for the ASOT solution
- Perform code reviews as needed
- Architect and design scalable, reliable, and maintainable software solutions
- Collaborate on complex technical problems and solutions with internal and external stakeholders
- Set clear expectations, goals and priorities for the team, provide regular feedback
- Identify and mitigate risks and proactively address any issues or obstacles that may arise during project execution
- Proactively communicate to stakeholders with updates on project status, risks, and dependencies
- Drive process improvements and optimizations to increase efficiency within the team and product
- Lead by example to promote best practices, code reviews, and adherence to coding standards and quality guidelines
- Steward and own the transition from Excel files to a digitized database for the Actuarial business team
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of related IT experience a Technical Lead, Senior Software Engineer, Data architect, or similar role
- 3+ years of experience with the following:
- Software experience in Java, React, NodeJS
- API Development (REST, GraphQL)
- Azure Cloud architecture, infrastructure & patterns
- Data Architecture experience
- Experience working in a virtual team environment across multiple locations.
- Prove exceptional interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation
- High proficiency in developing visual representations of architectural solutions
- High proficiency of both written and verbal English communication
- Proven excellent time management, communication, decision making, and presentation skills
