This position is Per Diem role as needed and can be up to 24 hrs./week. Schedule will vary with days of the week and shift times depending on business needs. We currently have 4 shifts - 7a-3:30p, 11a-7:30p, 3p-11:30p and 11p-7:30a.

Our office is in the Owensboro Regional Hospital at 1201 Pleasant Valley Rd, Owensboro, KY 42303.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Receives and relays internal and external calls and provides general information
- Operates telephone software applications to route incoming calls and place outgoing calls
- Operates the computerized system for patient transport including answering calls, entering information into patient transport system, assigning Ambassadors, and clearing the task when complete
- Dispatches patient transport and security staff as needed to the correct direction including the use of proper radio etiquette to ensure accuracy
- Maintains desk directories, on-call list, reference guides, and other associated reference materials
- Receives and accurately prioritizes; distributes phone calls to providers and nursing staff as needed
- Communicates codes, alerts, drills, and other announcements according to established policies and protocols including disaster management plans
- Proficient in all software applications specific to the Communications Department
- Maintains work area in a clean and orderly fashion to ensure equipment is functional

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
- Beginner level of proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications, including the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications
- Ability to cover any of our needed shifts on a per diem basis, up to 24 hours/week. (We currently have 4 shifts - 7a-3:30p, 11a-7:30p, 3p-11:30p and 11p-7:30a.)
- Ability to work 100% on-site in Owensboro, KY
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in a related environment (i.e. office, administrative, clerical, customer service, etc.) using phones and computers as the primary job tools
- Prior health care experience
Soft Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to listen skillfully, collect relevant information, build rapport and respond to customers in a compassionate manner
- Proficient conflict management skills to resolve issues in a stressful situation
