The UHC National Stop Loss Leader will have strategic responsibility for the distribution of all UHC Stop Loss products and services across UHC internal and external distribution channels. The primary responsibility is the development and execution of sales and distribution strategies that will drive profitable revenue expansion nationwide. The position will report into the Specialty Benefits Chief Growth Officer.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Achieve revenue and profitability objectives for the UHC Stop Loss segment nationally
- Develop annual business plans to meet Key Accounts, Public Sector, Labor & Trust, and National Accounts membership, penetration, retention, revenue, and profitability objectives
- Provide direction, strategy, collaboration, and leadership to Sales and Account Management to achieve UHC Stop Loss new sales and persistency goals
- Actively provide oversight and strategy development for distribution of all Stop Loss products nationally
- Establish field Sales and Account Management product objectives and develop competitive strategies to facilitate the execution of all UHC Stop Loss sales and retention goals
- Develop annual sales plans and budgets, monitor productivity, and progress toward achieving desired results
- Develop key internal and external relationships to facilitate results. Understand and create a strategy based on analysis and reporting of sales and market trends, including sales plan execution, competitive intelligence, and new product requirements
- Establish effective partnerships within UnitedHealthcare that maximize the UHC Stop Loss business opportunity
- Work with other UHG business units to uncover and facilitate joint sales/distribution opportunities
- Collaborate with the product organization and other functional organizations in the development and enhancement of current products, services, and customer offerings
- Assist the Regional VP's and Local Market VP leaders in achieving consistent activity disciplines to maximize new business development and assure perpetual pipeline growth
- Be the subject matter expert to ensure all Sales and Account Management teams, and distribution outlets are fully competent and trained appropriately to sell UHC Stop Loss products
- Develop best practices and implement those based on national and local market conditions

Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in full-range of Stop Loss and Self-Funding of Medical Benefits
- 10+ years of work experience at an executive level with solid professional contacts and a command of Stop Loss and Self-Funded products
- Ability to travel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree, Master's, or MBA
- Proven negotiation skills; the ability to gain acceptance from others of a plan or idea and achieve a mutually beneficial outcome
- Proven ability to systematically analyze problems, draw relevant conclusions, and devise appropriate courses of action
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, solid financial acumen with experience in measurement, data analysis, and interpretation

The salary range for this role is $180,000 to $280,000 annually based on full-time employment. Role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
