Job Summary:
The Establishment team will drive the set-up, standalone design and implementation of all required structure and capabilities to enable Unilever's Ice Cream business to become a fully functioning standalone company, separate from Unilever. The roles in the Establishment team will sit with the Ice Cream business and will work closely with the Unilever Separation team.
This role will lead company separation and new Ice Cream company establishment for Malaysia and Singapore. This role will partner the MYSG GM and work closely with other Functional Leads, and report directly to the Asia Establishment Lead. This will require collaboration with business leaders, coordination across different functional workstreams and overall set up of a future-fit operating model for the standalone Ice Cream organisation.
The successful candidate will be one that has deep CD and/or Marketing and/or General Management expertise with a proven record of leading large-scale transformation and has a passion for change management, simplification, communication, and a desire to make a meaningful impact. This role will exist in its current form for ~12-18 months. We expect the separation process to have been concluded in this period with post-separation governance established.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the diligence, planning and execution of all separation and establishment related activities in Malaysia and Singapore Coordinate with Asia Establishment PMO Leads, Regional Functional PMO Leads and in-country local functional leads Serve as key point of contact for all local functional leads and facilitate decision-making and resolve risks / issues as required Develop country profiles, country timelines and country workplans Ensure country specific issues are flagged and discussed involving GMs.
Deliverable(s):
- List of all establishment activities for Malaysia and Singapore
- Regular updates (progress, risks, issues) for Malaysia and Singapore
- Malaysia profile, Malaysia timeline and Malaysia detailed workplan (including key milestones, activities, owners, timelines, interdependencies etc.)
- Singapore profile, Singapore timeline and Singapore detailed workplan (including key milestones, activities, owners, timelines, interdependencies etc.)
The preferred candidate would have 8+ years of experience in CD and/or Marketing and/or General Management with following key skills:
- Systemic and strategic thinking: Being able to consider longer term implications for the business, elevating the conversation to business, society, and ecosystems. A deep understanding of the business and levers to pull, engaging others to prioritise and pursue opportunities that deliver significant growth for Unilever and have a positive impact on the world.
- Owner's mindset: Using financial acumen, data, and insights to inform their thinking that both makes the complex simple for others, creating a sense of urgency with a business edge and can show how those insights have created impact and delivered business value.
- Functional, Business and Commercial Acumen: Understanding of various business and functional models, industry dynamics, and market trends is crucial, combined with a deep understanding of how Unilever serves consumers to create a sustainable competitive and effective operation within the BU.
- Change Leadership and Communication prowess. Leading and landing transformative change, comfortable experimenting with new approaches, pushing themselves and others to achieve outstanding outcomes. Crafting communication narrative that is inspiring and compelling to drive change
- Organizational Design Expertise: Experience and proficiency in designing organizational structures, roles, and processes that facilitate efficiency, collaboration, and adaptability. This includes considerations like hierarchy, communication channels, and workflow optimization.
