Senior Software Engineer, UKG, Inc., Alpharetta, Georgia
Serves on an agile software development team responsible for developing and maintaining existing software products by building new functionality while ensuring the quality and excellence of UKG's products. Will write code using knowledge of coding techniques, tech stacks, and best practices, perform technical architecture and design projects, and mentor other members of the software development team. Specific duties will include:
- Developing cutting-edge software solutions to maximize performance, scalability, and distributed processing capabilities.
- Developing, testing, building, and deploying coding solutions for both existing legacy software systems and new software development initiatives.
- Utilizing enterprise-scale object oriented programming (OOP) software utilizing software as a service (SaaS") design principles, departmental tools and procedures such as TeamCity, Git, TFS, and Jira, and NoSQL and data structures to engineer high-level software solutions for UKG customers.
- Leading technical software development efforts by coordinating the technical team members to align and ensure the integrity and quality of the final software solution.
- Identifying and refactoring areas of functional and architectural software improvement.
- Collaborating outside of the agile software development team to align and achieve expected outcomes.
Requirements:
Position requires either (i) a Bachelor's degree (or an equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Science, IT, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field and 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer working on enterprise level projects or (ii) a Master's degree (or an equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Science, IT, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field and 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer working on enterprise level projects. Must also have 3 years of experience (which can have been gained concurrently with the primary experience requirement above) working with the following:
- OOP (Object Oriented Programming), Data Structures, Design Patterns, and Algorithms;
- C# and .Net Framework.
- SaaS (Software as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), and IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) solutions;
- Development of API's, Angular, Event-Driven Systems, Web Services, SQL and NoSQL; and
- Agile or Lean Software Development experience including Kanban or Scrum.
This is a hybrid position working 3 days per week at the company office in Alpharetta, Georgia and 2 days per week from a home office.
