Senior Software Engineer - Platform

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer - Platform to join our dynamic team. This role provides an opportunity to lead projects and contribute to high-impact software solutions that are used by enterprises and users worldwide. As a Senior Software Engineer - Platform, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of complex solution platforms, as well as mentoring junior engineers. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability ad performance of our environments, with a focus on reliability and availability.

Responsibilities:
• Development and Implement: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code or various software applications and systems. Streamline operations and improve efficiency by developing automation solutions using scripting languages, such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Administer and Manage solution platforms: Ensure the stability, security, and high availability of environments across private and public cloud platforms, specifically Azure and GCP, to support various SaaS solutions such as Salesforce and Dynamics 365 as well as database systems. Identify, troubleshoot and resolve platform related issues promptly and efficiently. Proactively monitor platform infrastructure for responsiveness and performance. Guarantee optimal efficiency and responsiveness using monitoring tools such as Datadog, Databricks, and Redgate. Design, implement and execute backup and recovery strategies to protect critical data in case of any data loss or system failures. Perform environment refreshes and post refresh tasks.
• Database Administration: Install and upgrade managed databases following established standards. Support and maintain high availability database systems and tools. Provide coaching and guidance to other team members regarding database methodologies, best practices on performance tuning, query optimization, index tuning, caching, buffer tuning, etc.
• Collaborate: Work closely with other engineers to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions. Ensure lower environments (sandboxes) and production environment meet business requirements. Provide support for seamless integrations and application operations.
• Technical Leadership: Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex platform solutions, ensuring they meet high standards of quality and performance.
• Project Management: Be able to manage execution and delivery of features and projects, negotiating project priorities and deadlines, ensuring successful and timely completion, with quality.
• Architectural Design: Participate or lead in design reviews with peers and stakeholders and in the architectural design of new features and systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Mentorship: Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth mindset.
• Code Review: Diligent about reviewing code developed by other developers, providing feedback and maintain a high bar of technical excellence to make sure code is adhering to industry standard best practices like coding guidelines, elegant, efficient and maintainable code, with observability built from ground up, unit tests etc.
• Testing: Build testable software, define tests, participate in the testing process, automate tests using, tools (e.g., Junit, Selenium) and Design Patterns leveraging the test automation pyramid as the guide.
• Debugging and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues, ensuring high-quality service operations.
• Service Health and Quality: Maintain the health and quality of services and incidents, proactively identifying and resolving issues. Utilize service health indicators and telemetry for action and provide recommendations to optimize service performance. Lead and conduct thorough root cause analysis and drive the implementation of measures to prevent future recurrences.
• Dev Ops Model: Actively engaged in designing current environment strategy and deployment process. Design and implement a set of standard procedures to be used for build, deployment, and configuration management. Work with other delivery teams to set up automated CI/CD pipeline to support enterprise solutions. Perform deployment from lower to higher environments.
• Maintain Infrastructure Security: Design and implement access control, monitor user activity, and address vulnerabilities. Ensure processes, procedures, and best practices all conform to compliance requirements and audits.
• Documentation: Properly document new features, enhancements or fixes to the product, and also contribute to training materials.
• Innovation: Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, advocating for their adoption where appropriate to drive innovation and productivity enhancement within the team (E.g., CoPilot)

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Deep expertise in one or more programming languages such as C, C++, C#, .NET, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Extensive experience with software development practices and design patterns.
• Proven track record of delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
• Proficiency with version control systems like GitHub and bug/work tracking systems like JIRA.
• Experience with SQL Server database administration.
• Experience with modern DevOps/SRE concepts.
• Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jenkins.
• Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience with automated deployment for Enterprise Platforms like Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Azure EDW.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
