Revenue Accountant, Professional Services Revenue
The Revenue Accountant is responsible for the revenue accounting process for assigned areas. This position will perform monthly and quarterly close activities for revenue, reconcile and validate revenue, prepare required journal entries, analyze data, and prepare reports for auditors and management. The Revenue Accountant will interact amongst various departments such as FP&A, services operations, contract administration, and external auditors. Position reports to the Revenue Manager .
Responsibilities:
• Identify and recognize the Company's professional service revenue using internal reporting to trigger revenue recognition in the Company's revenue subledger, ensuring adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies.
• Review customer contracts and agreements to determine appropriate revenue recognition methods, including the identification and allocation of multiple performance obligations.
• Validate the accuracy and completeness of recognized revenue monthly, booking true up journal entries as required.
• Participate in the monthly Revenue close process including journal entry preparation and deferred revenue and contract asset account analysis.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations and account rollforwards with a focus on revenue, deferred revenue and/or contract asset accounts. Ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls and external reporting requirements.
• Assist in the design and implementation of new internal controls and processes for professional services revenue recognition.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance service revenue accounting processes and implementing best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Conduct periodic revenue analysis out of the Company's revenue recognition subledger and internal databases to identify and resolve discrepancies or anomalies.
• Participate in interim and year-end audits, preparing account analyses, providing support documentation to auditors, and providing support for financial statement footnotes, as needed.
Qualifications:
• Bachelors' Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
• Minimum of 2 years of overall work experience in finance close operations and/or revenue recognition. Experience with revenue recognition under ASC 606/IFRS 15 is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, revenue recognition guidelines, and financial reporting requirements.
• Demonstrate attention to detail, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven interest/ability in learning new systems/data tools.
• Ability to multi-task and to proactively resolve problems in a fast-paced and changing environment.
• Excellent Excel skill level(Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, if statements) and experience in manipulating large data sets.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams
• Highly motivated, reliable and a team player.
Other Preferred Skills:
• Experience working with different data sources/systems including, but not limited to Microsoft Dynamics365, Oracle, OpenAir, RevPro and Salesforce
• Experience using Alteryx and Cognos
• CPA or equivalent certification is preferred, but not required.

The pay range for this position is $55,400 to $79,650, however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive and a long-term incentive as part of total compensation.
