Principal Financial Analyst, Cloud Finance

The Principal Financial Analyst, Cloud Finance is a critical role within the EPIC finance team and UKG's broader FP&A organization. This is an exciting and challenging role for a highly motivated, experienced analyst with advanced financial modeling skills and a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment to support UKG's growing Finance organization.

Reporting to the Director of Cloud Finance, this position provides end-to-end financial support for the Cloud organization. The role interacts closely with various individuals across EPIC and Finance including senior leadership and direct support to the VP, Cloud Ops. The successful candidate requires advanced understanding and experience in financial modeling, including multi-year, scenario-based analysis, sensitivity analysis, and forecasting. This expertise should encompass various financial metrics and KPIs, enabling the candidate to provide strategic insights and support data-driven decision-making.

This is a highly visible role that requires the management of scalable processes that drive financial discipline and efficiency to help achieve UKG's long term Goals.

How you will support the Cloud organization:

• Develop, streamline, and automate financial models to support short- and long-term forecasts, business cases, scenario analysis, and management decisions. Coach team members on model usage. Financial modeling experience is critical to this role and requires the development of complex financial models such as:

o Public and private cloud spend - Disaggregate total spend into key cost categories and develop financial models incorporating key assumptions such as cost growth drivers and consumption patterns, cloud capacity plans and customer bookings.

o Vendor software subscription spend - Understand usage for critical software and develop financial models incorporating key assumptions such as cost growth drivers and consumption patterns, contract terms with key financial risks, and other key data points.

o 5-year Long Range Planning (LRP) - Develop LRP's models that are aligned to organizational goals and include scenarios analysis.

o Ad-hoc financial models - ROI analysis, business case models, P&L analysis.

• Collaborate with FinOps, R&D, Security, Cloud, and other functions to integrate diverse data sets and narratives, enhancing insights into cloud spend, gross margin performance, and unit economic performance.

• Prepare presentations and develop narratives to communicate key insights, including risks and opportunities related to cloud spend, to UKG leadership in collaboration with your manager.

• Play a lead role in our annual planning process ensuring the financial plan aligns with our operational goals while partnering with the business to ensure financial transparency and drive the best outcome for UKG

• Continually identify and execute on internal process improvements and best practices not only within the finance organization but also with operational business partners

• Establish yourself as a strategic advisor who can help solve business problems through the finance lens to align business activities with our financial results

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis and modeling, working in a technology company preferred

• B.A. in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

• Highly competent in financial modeling and data analysis

• Strong organizational and analytical skills to understand business requirements and track plan changes

• Effective communication skills; listening, written and verbal; ability to interact and effectively communicate with staff at all levels of the Company

• Thinking imaginatively and intuitively while quickly grasping and synthesizing new ideas

• Willingness to perform hands-on analysis as needed

• Advanced excel skills and strong Power BI skills including strong data modelling skills

• Strong system skills; specifically experience with ERP systems and data warehousing tools, Microsoft D365 and IBM TM1 a plus

The pay range for this position is $112,300 to $161,400 USD, however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive and a long-term incentive as part of total compensation.
