Position Overview
We are seeking a talented and versatile Engineer to join our Collaboration and Developer Tools (CDT) Value Stream. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and evolving our project management and collaboration platforms, with a primary focus on Jira and Confluence. As part of our commitment to a unified engineering approach, you will also contribute your software engineering expertise to automate processes, improve system integrations, and enhance user experiences.
This position requires a blend of Jira administration expertise, particularly with the Jira Data Center platform, and general development skills, ensuring you can tackle both platform-specific challenges and broader engineering initiatives.

Responsibilities
Platform Administration & Optimization:
Manage and maintain Jira and Confluence instances, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.
Plan and execute upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities.
Configure Jira workflows, screens, fields, permissions, and schemes to align with organizational needs.
Drive cross-platform integrations to streamline data flow between Jira and other tools (e.g., GitHub, CI/CD pipelines).
Development & Automation:
Design and implement automation scripts to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort across Jira and related tools.
Leverage scripting languages like Groovy (preferred) or Python to build customs, extend Jira capabilities, and support integration projects.
Debug and optimize existing scripts and automation solutions.
Collaboration & Support:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver tailored Jira solutions.
Provide technical support to users, resolving issues promptly and guiding them on best practices.
Act as a trusted advisor, driving adoption of Jira and Confluence as strategic tools within the organization.
Documentation & Enablement:
Develop and maintain detailed documentation for configurations, workflows, scripts, and integrations.
Create training materials and deliver workshops to empower teams to maximize Jira and Confluence usage.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated expertise in Jira administration, with experience configuring workflows, permissions, and integrations.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Groovy or Python to enhance tool functionality.
Familiarity with version control systems like GitHub and their integration with Jira.
Experience implementing automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.
Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a customer-centric mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and how they influence Jira usage.
Background in software engineering or DevOps, with a focus on building scalable and maintainable solutions.
