UKG is seeking a Lead Implementation Specialist for our Tax Center of Excellence (COE) department. This position is responsible for providing advisory services to the Implementation Services Activation team through training and mentorship, documenting best practices, evaluating and advising on system configuration related to tax setup, and assisting consultants with complex customer requirements.
The qualified candidate must have strong analytical skills, proven problem-solving skills, and experience handling difficult or sensitive situations in a professional, timely, and thorough manner. The Tax COE requires self-starters who are highly motivated to provide excellent customer service. The qualified candidate will also have experience in Payroll and Tax to provide comprehensive reconciliation and configuration guidance relative to data migration from Legacy system to UKG Pro.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Identify data discrepancies between legacy data and UKG Pro, specifically in the areas of tax, taxable wages, and Resident/State locations
• Leveraging payroll tax expertise and past experiences, determine what is causing data discrepancies
• Use independent judgement to create a recommended action plan the implementation teams will use to address discrepancies
• Understanding tax agency requirements, provide consultation to implementation teams which will enable them to communicate payroll tax items more effectively with the customer
• Articulate how tax laws, regulations, and best practice recommendations will impact system configuration and payroll processing
• Validate implementation team members have completed the key tax-related actions or tasks associated with launching the customer
• Troubleshoot and provide consultation to payment services teams in the resolution of tax filing issues
• Identify and spearhead initiatives to innovate, adapt, and continually improve Tax COE processes, including changes to process, tools and technology
• Stay informed on tax laws, regulations, and best practices and share that with leadership and the team
• Provide ongoing development, mentoring, and support of team members
Basic Requirements:
• Minimum of five years of UKG Pro experience
• Requires extensive subject matter expertise in Payroll and Payroll Taxes, Tax reporting, and tax correspondence at the federal, state and local levels
• Experience in a technically oriented customer service organization
• Ability to travel if needed (10% - 20 %)
Preferred Qualifications
• Strong analysis, analytical, change control, project management, and time management skills
• Proven ability to coach, train, and mentor others
• Excellent organizational, problem solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and balance multiple priorities
• SQL knowledge preferred
• BS/BA in Business Administration, or equivalent experience. CPP or other professional certification strongly preferred.

The pay range for this position is $88,700 to $127,500, however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive and a long-term incentive as part of total compensation.
