The internship will begin in on Monday January 13th, 2025, and will end on Friday June 13th, 2025. It is a full-time role, Monday through Friday, from 9:00am - 5:30pm. To be eligible for our internship program you must be able to work in a hybrid environment and be on-site 3 days per week at our Kilkenny office which is in the IDA Business and Technology Park.

About the role:
As a SOC Analyst Intern, you will be part of our Global Security Operations Center that follows a follow-the-sun structure, working to ensure continuous monitoring, detection and response to security events affecting UKG and our customers. This is a 6-month internship starting Monday January 13th, 2025. It is a full-time role, Monday through Friday, from 9:00am - 5:30pm. To be eligible for our internship program you must be able to work in a hybrid environment and be on-site 3 days per week at our Kilkenny office which is in the IDA Business and Technology Park.
Responsibilities:
• Continuously monitor assets and respond to active threats to and within the enterprise to identify and block malicious behavior and activities.
• Detect, report, assess, and respond to information security incidents.
• Perform analysis of log files from a variety of sources (e.g., individual host logs, network traffic logs, firewall logs, and intrusion detection system [IDS] logs) to identify possible threats to network security.
• Perform event correlation using information gathered from a variety of sources within the enterprise to gain situational awareness and determine the effectiveness of an observed attack.
• Read, interpret, write, modify, and execute simple scripts.
Basic Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, MIS, Engineering, Computer Science or another related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Interest in IT, infrastructure, engineering, and modern end user technologies.
• Microsoft suite proficiency.
• Quick learner with new software or computer applications.
• Strong analytical, business process analysis, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage and connect with stakeholders.
• Knowledge of operating systems.
• Knowledge of OSI model and underlying network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP).
• Knowledge of the common networking and routing protocols.
