About the Role
Your mission as the Merchant Business Development manager is to develop the business with the external partners to boost the merchant acquisition. You must be creative to come up with the out-of-the-box ideas through necessary data analysis, build partnership strategies, actually lead the negotiation and realize the partnerships.
In addition, building and maintaining a good relationship with the partner's key decision makers level is crucial.
What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points
1. Identify Business Opportunities:
- Research and analyze new markets, trends, customer needs, and potential partners to identify growth opportunities.
- Develop and propose strategies to enter new markets or expand in existing ones.

2. Build Relationships and Partnerships:
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including potential clients, partners, vendors, and investors.
- Negotiate and secure strategic partnerships, joint ventures, or collaborations that drive business growth.
3. Sales and Lead Generation:
- Identify and target new business leads and opportunities, pitching services or products to potential partners.
- Create and deliver presentations to prospective partners to explain the company's value proposition.
- Work closely with the sales team to convert leads into clients and meet revenue targets.
4. Develop Business Strategies:
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., sales, marketing, operations) to create and implement long-term business development strategies.
- Analyze data and feedback from customers and the market to refine business development strategies.
- Set goals and KPIs for business growth and regularly report progress to senior management.
5. Negotiate Deals and Contracts:
- Lead negotiations for contracts, deals, and other business agreements, ensuring favorable terms for the company.
- Draft proposals, contracts, and agreements, working closely with legal and finance teams to ensure compliance.
Basic Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience with; building the business with external partners
- Proven success in sales or closing deals
- Data-driven decision-making mentality and sound commercial judgment
- High adaptability to change and ability to execute quickly
- Japanese Native / Business level English communication

- Strategy / business consulting background
- Existing network with industry
