About the Role
At Uber Eats, Territory teams are the heart and soul of the company. These are the teams that take our global product and localize it to their market to make it successful. In this context, you will be in charge of shaping and leading local Uber Eats initiatives in the largest city in South Africa, delivering on key project KPIs that ensure that Gauteng continues to grow and offer outstanding service to our customers & partners, while finding opportunities to improve the bottom line of the Gauteng business.
This role calls for creative problem-solving, sophisticated analytics, critical thinking, business strategy, a desire for execution and strong stakeholder skills to partner with cross functional teams.

What You'll Do
- Project Management: identifying key problems, defining these for the business, developing plans & timelines to solve these for the business. Making strategic decisions to strengthen our position in a competitive delivery market through improvements in merchant quality, targeted selection penetration & local suburb level interventions.
- Merchant Partner Relations: develop scaled approaches to grow a portfolio of partners, experiment with innovative tactics, monitor metrics and ensure a high-quality experience to our users.
- Analysis: we quantify everything we do. You'd utilize your data-driven, decision making skills to optimize merchant quality, drive adoption of growth tools to maximize merchant revenues on the platform. Using analyses to set the standard on the delivery experience across Gauteng.
- Process-building: Uber Eats is a company that moves fast and does things at large scale. You will help design, build and optimize processes to improve the team's execution on promotional campaigns and merchant interventions. This could include new marketing structures, operational improvements or anything else that drives efficiency and fuels growth
- Cross-functional collaboration: work closely with the client-facing & operational teams to ensure an optimal delivery experience for our eaters and restaurants
What You'll Need
- 5+ years of professional work experience in a related field (consulting, operations, strategy, analytics, tech, banking, etc.)
- Takes initiative and easily adapt to constantly-changing work environment. Hands-on mentality and eagerness to deliver results
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal & external partners as well as good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strategic mindset and sound business judgment through analytical thinking
- Strong project management skills, comfortable working independently at times.
- Proficient in SQL, Excel, and/or Google Sheets, and analytical methods would be advantageous
- Commercial aptitude, having a great sense for spotting business opportunities and able to transform these opportunities into results
