This role is focused on driving Uber's strategy within the grocery and retail sectors, ensuring that continue delivering value to our customers, partners, and stakeholders.
You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives, driving key planning processes, and working cross-functionally to ensure that the Grocery & Retail business has a clear, actionable roadmap. You will work closely with the leadership team and cross-functional partners to set priorities, allocate resources, and monitor performance against strategic goals.

This role reports directly to the Head of Global Strategy & Planning and will have high visibility across the organization.

What You'll Do:
- Strategic Planning: Lead the strategic planning process for Uber's Grocery & Retail business, identifying key growth opportunities and setting the vision for the future.
- Business Analysis: Conduct deep analysis of market trends, competitive landscape, and internal performance data to inform strategic decisions and provide actionable insights.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with key cross-functional teams, including Operations, Product, Finance, and Marketing, to develop and implement initiatives that align with the overall strategy.
- Resource & Investment Allocation: Work with leadership to allocate resources effectively, ensuring that investments are aligned with strategic priorities and that the team is equipped to execute on the roadmap.
- Performance Tracking: Develop metrics and dashboards to track progress against goals, and lead regular performance reviews with leadership to ensure that the business is on track to achieve its objectives.
- Growth Initiatives: Drive strategic growth initiatives, including market entry strategies, partnership development, and expansion planning.
- Thought Leadership: Provide thought leadership on the grocery and retail industry, sharing insights and recommendations with senior leaders across the organization.
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in strategy, business planning, or a related field, preferably within the tech, retail, or e-commerce industries.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in data analysis, financial modeling, and performance tracking.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in strategy, business planning, or a related field.
- Experience working within the grocery, retail, or consumer goods sectors.
- MBA or advanced degree in a related field.
- Proven ability to lead strategic planning processes, drive business analysis, and develop actionable insights.
- Strong experience working cross-functionally with teams such as Operations, Product, Finance, and Marketing.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and present complex information clearly and effectively.
- Proven track record of driving growth initiatives, market entry strategies, or expansion planning in a global environment.
- Experience working in a high-growth, tech-driven environment.
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, rapidly changing environment with a strong sense of ownership and drive.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$155,000 per year - USD$172,000 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$155,000 per year - USD$172,000 per year.
