The Airport, Stations, & Venues use case is one of the most important at Uber. These trips are many riders' first use case, they represent a material percentage of Uber's overall trip volume, and these trips tend to be more profitable. At Uber, we recognize an opportunity to help positively shape the travel experience for riders around the world. Our team is obsessed with driving excellent airport, stations, and venues experiences for our customers.

Uber is seeking a Strategic & Operations Manager focusing on helping us incubate and grow new products into the airport and venues ecosystem, from ideation to launch. You will also contribute to Global Ops Strategy, including program management, strategic analysis, and reporting. In this role, you will assist partner teams as we try to maximize our growth at airports, stations, and venues, as well as independently driving launches of new airports and products. You'll bring your analytical abilities to help uncover growth opportunities across Japan, as we continue to grow the size of the business.

Your Impact in Role

Strategy & Insights:

  • Bring your analytical A-game. You'll build business models to better understand trends, provide useful insights, and track productivity of initiatives to ensure we're driving toward the best possible outcomes.
  • Build insightful reports and presentations to communicate business performance & strategic opportunities.
  • Creative thinking and problem solving. Deep dive into our biggest marketplace and core experience challenges and navigate high touch issues through critical thinking and ideation.
  • Lead initiatives. You'll lead initiatives, strategies and processes and work with other operations teams across the world to grow strategic and long term opportunities.

External Stakeholder Management:

  • Meet with potential airport, stations, and venue partners to negotiate deals that will help with unlocking growth.
  • Customer obsession - expertly manage external stakeholders to find win-win solutions for Uber and our airport, station, and venue partners.

Product Growth:

  • Monitor and analyze performance of airports and venues growth adjacent products, recommend adjustments to optimize results and growth
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams across business development, product, marketing, operations, legal, and finance teams to scope, test and implement new/existing products into the airports and venues ecosystem.
  • Conduct market research, identify potential new products, and build business plans, including go-to-market strategies, pricing models, and financial projections.
  • Be an expert on our tech capabilities and partner with product teams to see opportunities to improve how we run our business through product features and enhancements.

What You Will Need

  • 2-3+ years of experience
  • Project management experience
  • Experience building high impact presentations
  • Data-first problem solver with experience with excel/data management
  • Experience with working with external stakeholders
  • Japanese Fluency / Business English
  • Experience in strategy, operations, and program management preferred
  • Experience producing executive level presentations preferred
  • Analytics. Proven analytical skills and data-driven decision making; fluency in SQL, Tableau, and other analytical and visualization tools preferred
  • Experience taking initiative in a constantly changing work environment; resilience to overcome challenges and deliver during fluid conditions is preferred
