About the Role

We are looking for passionate Software Engineers to join our Customer Obsession team. In this role, you will help design and implement innovative solutions that enhance customer care and drive engagement across various support channels, including messaging, chat, and phone support.

You will be instrumental in the development and improvement of customer support solutions at Uber. This role provides an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, including generative AI, to create advanced automation solutions.

  1. Design, develop, and deploy systems/platform/algorithms to solve complex business problems and improve product performance.
  2. Collaborate with other software engineers, product managers and data scientists to understand requirements, define project goals, and deliver high-quality solutions
  3. Deliver and review technical design, code and documentation
  4. Drive ongoing efficiency and reliability improvements through design and automation: availability, performance, scaling, monitoring and capacity.
  5. Mentor and support your interns/fellow team members
  6. Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in software engineering

---- Basic Qualifications ----
  1. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
  2. Strong communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  3. Ability to mentor and foster the growth of a group of Software Engineers

---- Preferred Qualifications ----
  1. Masters or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
  2. Minimum 7+ years of experience in in professional software development experience, developing and deploying systems in production environments
  3. Strong knowledge of backend development, distributed systems
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary to tackle complex challenges

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$218,000 per year - USD$242,000 per year.

For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$218,000 per year - USD$242,000 per year.

For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits. More details can be found at the following link https://www.uber.com/careers/benefits.
