About the Role

Uber's Cloud Security engineering team is looking for staff security engineer to lead and enhance our cloud security posture across rapidly growing multi-cloud environments. You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and managing security controls, ensuring compliance, and driving security best practices for cloud infrastructure, applications and data. Moreover, we expect you to lead and advance Uber's AI-powered cloud security initiatives, and secure AI applications across our cloud environments.

---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

  1. Design and implement security frameworks across AWS, OCI, and GCP. Collaborate with peer team to onboard new services and/or migrate services to cloud secured by the framework.
  2. Define security standards, best practices, and governance for cloud environments in different domains including IAM, Secrets & Keys, Host & containers, Network, Data and AI.
  3. Identify and mitigate security misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, and threats.
  4. Design and enforce security controls for AI model pipelines, training datasets, and inference APIs.

---- Basic Qualifications ----
  1. B.S. or equivalent in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering or related field.
  2. 8+ years of overall industry experience with 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity,
  3. Expertise in securing cloud environments in AWS, GCP, OCI and/or Azure.
  4. Proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash for security automation.

---- Preferred Qualifications ----
  1. Experience with security automation, SIEM, and cloud-native security tools (e.g., Wiz, Prisma Cloud, AWS Security Hub).
  2. Experience with IaC security tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  3. Expertise in securing AI/ML applications and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  4. Experience with AI-driven security analytics, threat detection, and automation.
  5. Good understanding of CIS benchmarks, MITRE ATT&CK, and cloud threat models.

For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$229,000 per year - USD$254,000 per year.

For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$229,000 per year - USD$254,000 per year.
