About the Role

GSS Engg Services Team mission is to Drive Engineering efficiency at Uber by managing diverse engineering engagements (development, Integration, Support) and delivering them through preferred vendor partners.As a Senior Technical Program manager for Engineering services function in GSS, you will be responsible for scaling operational processes, solve complex technical challenges and be a force multiplier in the team. This role requires both technology fluency (software life cycle) and experience managing multiple technical programs & managing global rollouts leveraging vendor partners or third party contractors or consultants. You will work alongside large multi-functional teams from operations, product, engineering, data science, legal, and policy in a fast-paced, hybrid technology/operations/business environment.

---- What You Will Need ----
  1. Build strong relationships with cross-functional team members and work collaboratively with key stakeholders to deliver on the following:
  2. Operational Strategy - Scoping and prioritizing activities to meet strategic goals and objectives both for the partners and within the team. Identify gaps and risks for the programs, processes, and policies to drive improvements. Monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve the processes and governance models
  3. Implementation - Drive the implementation of the operational strategy and other programs, projects, and initiatives. Extend the influence and empower teams to deliver with high quality and efficiency. Manage issue escalations and proactively remove obstacles to drive momentum and progress.
  4. Program Management - Raise the bar for the TPM team by efficiently managing several technical programs end to end - scoping, program planning, implementation, stakeholder engagement & communications, identifying success metrics, risk management, change requests, releases, resource management and budgeting. Establish measurement metrics and methods for tracking work productivity, utilization, and quality.
  5. Tech deep dive - Develop a deep understanding of the tech stack, help teams with tech consulting, system design & solutioning, and support needs of various engineering, Ops and product partners.

---- Preferred Qualifications ----
  1. Minimum of 8 years experience as a TPM/PM in a tech and/or start up environment working directly with software engineers.
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional emotional intelligence.
  3. 3+ years of hands-on software development/management experience, preferably open source environment
