About the Role
Uber Connect and Direct are fast growing products in the C2C (Consumer to Consumer) and B2C (Business to Consumer) spaces respectively. This role will help lead the product development for these products.
Uber Connect (aka Flash) allows any consumer to request a delivery from or to any other consumer within their city. This can be anything from sending documents for signature or returning forgotten keys. The Uber Rider app is the entry point here.
Uber Direct is our business level offering. We allow merchants to create deliveries by either using our Dashboard product or directly integrating with our public api. This lets a merchant add delivery services to their existing website or app.

What the Candidate Will Do
- Collaborate and work within a team with other engineers, Product Managers, Designers and others to build towards the roadmap..
- Contribute to engineering culture in terms of quality, monitoring, and on-call practices.
- Uplevel and enhance the engineering team via mentorship, best practices, and role modeling.
- Participate in and lead wider organizational efforts for Delivery and Uber overall.
- Identify value and create efficiencies and teach others to do this as well.
- Provide technical leadership to the full engineering team up to and including the Staff level engineers.
---- Basic Qualifications ----
- 10+ years engineering experience
- Strong problem-solving skills, with expertise in algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis
- Experience with distributed systems
- Resilience, determination, ownership mindset, and a keen appetite for collaborative efforts

- 12+ years engineering experience
- Experience working at large companies (10k+)
- Experience working with distributed teams
- Experience coding in Go
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$252,000 per year - USD$280,000 per year.
For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$252,000 per year - USD$280,000 per year.
