About the Role

The Tax Receipts team at Uber is seeking a skilled and experienced backend engineer to join our dynamic and innovative fintech engineering group. This team focuses on developing and enhancing Uber's financial technology services related to tax receipts. As an L5 backend engineer, you will play a key role in building scalable systems that manage tax calculations and receipt management, ensuring compliance and efficiency across Uber's global operations.

---- What You Will Do ----

  1. Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems using programming languages such as Java, Python, and GoLang.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and enhance tax-related features in Uber's fintech platforms.
  3. Solve complex technical challenges involving large-scale data processing and financial transaction systems.
  4. Ensure code quality and system reliability through effective testing, peer reviews, and continuous integration practices.
  5. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical growth of the team.
  6. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation within the team.

---- What You Will Need----
  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  2. Over 9 years of experience in backend engineering, with a focus on fintech or related domains.
  3. Proficiency in Java, Python, and GoLang.
  4. Demonstrated experience in system design, scalability, and performance optimization.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Experience with AI/ML and DevOps is a plus.

  1. A track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects in a fintech environment.
  2. Experience in mentoring and leading technical teams.
