About the Role

Uber's Revenue Product team is looking for a Business System Analyst to join the team.

Uber's Revenue Platform is a near real-time financial product that translates billions of transactions into compliant financial accounting transactions monthly. The platform is used by accountants during each month-end close. It also distributes financial information to the wilder finance organization for management and reporting purposes.

In this challenging role, you will join the front lines of a collaborative, dynamic, and fast-paced Finance and Business Operations team, designing and codifying our business processes into enterprise systems. This role offers the opportunity for a curious and collaborative Business Systems Analyst to increase clarity and efficiency of end-to-end business processes while driving elasticity of corporate strategy through reporting of key corporate metrics. This position will be trusted to translate cross-functional business requirements into system design, allowing for data-driven strategy and insights.

A strong understanding of Financial Accounting and experience with SQL is required. Experience in building or implementing financial systems is preferred.

---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

Work with a cross-functional team to build financial systems supporting and automating the order to cash lifecycle

Identify business-driven needs

Produce concise yet effective business requirements

Identify gaps and recommend action plans and prioritization

Review existing processes and lead the creation of requirement user stories to engage with IT and build the solution

UAT Support and post-production support

Support month-end close process

Provide consulting services to the internal collaborators, offer expert level understanding of revenue and settlements systems configuration.

Manage system improvement and modification to meet business needs within the core revenue, order to cash and settlements systems

---- Basic Qualifications ----

  • Minimum 8+ years of business analysis experience working with financial systems
  • Experience in deploying financial application projects globally in a controlled environment
  • Passionate about improving processes and articulating to partners using various tools and techniques- process flows, data flows, business use cases, etc.
  • You know how to use data to make decisions without getting stuck in analysis paralysis.
  • Grittiness. You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and tackle something hands-on, you persevere when others fall away.
  • Passion for Uber's mission and the company's hybrid technology/operations nature.
  • A track record of driving challenging and complex programs/projects to closure
  • In-depth understanding of large company's accounting monthly close process and financial controls
  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Strong data analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

A strong understanding of Financial Accounting and experience with SQL is required. Experience in building or implementing financial systems is preferred.

For Dallas, TX-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$154,000 per year - USD$171,000 per year.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$171,000 per year - USD$190,000 per year.
