About the Role
Uber is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our Enterprise Security Software Engineering team. This team develops custom/first party software solutions for the Enterprise Security organization. As a team member, you will help us deliver on several key initiatives in the software and security engineering spaces.
In this role, you will be tasked with implementing software engineering solutions across our enterprise security teams, and support our team to scale security engagement across Engineering.
You'll use your software engineering skills to raise the security bar across multiple domains and teams. This is a unique opportunity to work with both senior and junior engineers, make a real impact on Uber's security posture, and continue to up-level your own software engineering skill while building your security knowledge.

What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points

- Design end to end features and systems that solve problems related to enterprise security
- Collaborate and consult with multiple engineering teams and other functional stakeholders from Privacy, Security, Compliance, Infrastructure, and Product for integration into our platform;
- Build distributed backend systems processing real-time analytics data at Uber scale
- Communicate ideas and proposals concisely to a wide range of audiences
---- Basic Qualifications ----
- BS/BE degree in Computer Science or related fields
- 3+ years of working experience with backend development (Go/Java/C/Python) (we use Go!)
- Experience implementing REST APIs
- Strong problem solving, service architecture, and coding skills
- Ability to communicate ideas and proposals concisely to a wide range of audiences
---- Preferred Qualifications ----
- Full-stack experience, Web UI development
- Experience with Kafka, HDFS, Hive, Redis, MySQL
- Experience building out integrations with open source and vendor products
