About the Role
The successful candidate will come into this newly created role and take the lead for our corporate income tax processes for our LATAM region, working closely with our external service providers. They will oversee all LATAM entities income tax returns, aiming to standardize our processes and create a best-in-class process from local entity returns through to our US GAAP provisioning.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Understand our business, operating model and processes in relation to local regulations and requirements.
- Work closely with our third party global compliance partner to ensure accurate and complete information is provided in a timely manner and that any changes to local requirements are communicated and understood.
- Maintain a project plan and calendar for all corporate tax compliance deliverables in conjunction with our global compliance partner to ensure adherence to all deadlines.
- Identify process improvements that will increase efficiency or address service levels with the compliance partner as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of in-house, or review of externally prepared, tax notes for the financial statements
- Stay up to date on all tax technical developments, and provide updates and training to the team as required.
- Support information requests related to new country/product launches as needed.
- Support information requests related to tax audits as needed.
- Work independently to research and resolve queries related to information requests, liaising with accounting as needed.
- Provide input to our quarterly US GAAP provisioning process.
- Stays abreast of regional reporting developments to ensure requirements, current process and reporting remains relevant.
- Keeps up to date on upcoming changes to the compliance landscape and determines how these changes will impact the existing compliance process.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Tax, Accounting or Finance
- 7+ years professional experience with income taxes and tax compliance
- Has an understanding of the requirements US GAAP tax reporting, and IFRS
- An excellent understanding of corporate income tax principles
- Fluent English and Spanish
- Strong communication skills and ability to communicate key information and status to stakeholders
- Ability to interact with all departments and levels throughout our organization
- Excellent project and time management skills, ability to prioritize and multitask
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA/CA/ACCA/equivalent qualification preferred
- Big 4 experience is a strong plus
- Experience with Oracle R12 or another large scale ERP is preferred
