The Delivery Science team is a key part of the cross-functional product development team that builds the tech underlying our Online Food Delivery, Grocery, Direct and Ads lines of businesses. We build across the end-to-end user experience, including consumer growth, feed, search, shopping experiences, marketplace fulfillment, inventory, and catalog management.
About the Role
UberEats has evolved into a global marketplace where people turn to address their everyday needs. We're looking for Scientists with strong backgrounds in Economics and Statistics to work in various parts of our portfolio including eaters, groceries, merchants, ads, etc. The work will involve and not limited to:

- Develop and interpret models and experiments that help to solve challenging causal problems such as pricing, product incrementality and long-term value.
- Uncover opportunities to improve ranking and personalization connected to long-term value.
- Propose, design, and analyze large scale experiments to answer key strategic questions.
- Develop data-driven insights to identify opportunities to improve the product or build new products.
- Present findings to various constituents: technical, business and executive audiences.
Basic Qualifications
- Ph.D., M.S., or Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields.
- 3+ years of industry experience as an Applied or Data Scientist or equivalent.
- Experience in experimental design and analysis.
- Experience with exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis and testing, and model development.
- Experience using Python to work efficiently at scale with large data sets.
- Proficiency in SQL.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in designing and interpreting causal inference methods (A/B testing, synthetic control, matching, switchbacks).
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex problems clearly to diverse audiences, including executives.
- Skilled at solving ambiguous business problems.
- Curious and driven to find insights that inform product and business strategies.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$174,000 per year - USD$193,500 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$174,000 per year - USD$193,500 per year.
