About the Role

As Consumer Engagement PM of Trip Interventions, you will own core elements of the Uber Rider experience to recommend ways of improving a rider's requested ride. Whether suggesting a better pickup location, alternate ride types that improve reliability, or more convenient options like curbside pickup, you'll be responsible for intelligently getting riders back on track when things go wrong, and making already good trips even better.

You will help define the user experience for some of the most critical interfaces in the Rider app, support the development of advanced targeting and personalization systems, and ultimately increase the ways Uber supports customers around the world with their mobility and delivery needs as they adopt more of our services. You'll also partner with teams and stakeholders across the company as a platform owner, powering new ways of assisting that not only improve rider experience, but also inspire trial and lasting adoption of new ways to Uber.

You will work with partners in design, research, and data science teams - and across product teams within the company - in order to understand customer needs. You will then design holistic solutions to address them. As a result, your work will touch millions of riders a day, including the experiences of your friends and family.

What the Candidate Will Do

  • Own experiences and platforms to power rider success, touching every part of the fulfillment journey from rider and driver matching, to recovery from cancellations and unfulfilled trips. Across these surfaces, you'll own the full stack across multiple engineering teams, including infrastructural capabilities, personalization and machine learning, and marketplace capabilities core to Uber's business, all the way to the front end experience. In doing so, you'll be creating and leading execution on an exciting roadmap to materially shape the way tens of millions of people interact with the Uber apps.
  • Partner with design, research, data science, engineering, and other PM stakeholders to understand user needs and pain points, and then design holistic solutions to address them
  • Work with product, ops, sales, and other partner teams around the company to understand their use cases and integrate them appropriately in the Rider app

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of delivering highly successful and innovative products with your fingerprints all over them -- and you're deeply proud of what you've accomplished.
  • A passion for user experience: you can both guide design priorities for the team, and have an excellent sense of experience principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Thinking at scale & platform experience: you can take a laundry list of use cases and connect the dots to develop holistic, scalable solutions to for internal partners
  • You can get the data you need and can whip it into an insightful story with no help. You have experience running rigorous multivariate testing and experimentation.
  • ML/ranking experience: you can work closely with Data Science & Machine Learning Engineering experts to maximize the value of touchpoints with Riders, optimizing across rider needs & context, timing, channels, content, and more.

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$174,000 per year - USD$193,500 per year.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$174,000 per year - USD$193,500 per year.

For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$174,000 per year - USD$193,500 per year.
