About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager with strong security acumen, technical intuition, and an entrepreneurial spirit. This individual should be comfortable navigating uncharted territory to enhance security at Uber, leveraging AI as a key tool, while ensuring AI-driven systems are used securely and protected against AI-related threats. Your expertise will be critical in shaping security across Uber's ecosystem.

This Product Manager will sit at the intersection of Security, Engineering, Law, Policy, and Business, ensuring that Uber's security technologies are resilient, AI-enhanced, and aligned with ethical AI principles. You'll have the opportunity to work across all Uber products, making a significant global impact!

What Will You Do

  • Define security product requirements that address user needs, regulatory considerations, and business strategies.
  • Develop and ship security solutions aligned with Uber's security roadmap, collaborating across Security Engineering, AI teams, and other Product groups.
  • Use AI to enhance security - Leverage AI to improve Uber's security posture, automating threat detection, fraud prevention, and security enforcement.
  • Ensure secure AI usage - Ensure Uber's AI models and applications adhere to security best practices, mitigating risks related to sensitive data exposure and adversarial attacks.
  • Protect against AI-driven threats - Develop technologies to defend against AI-driven security risks, including deepfakes, automated fraud, and adversarial AI attacks.
  • Align stakeholders across Security, Legal, and broader Engineering teams on a mission-driven roadmap that fortifies Uber's security ecosystem.
  • Apply data insights and security research to drive security improvements, identifying emerging threats and innovating countermeasures.
  • Define and track security metrics, ensuring transparency and continuous improvement in Uber's security initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of Product Management experience delivering successful technical and/or platform solutions
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Security, AI/ML, or a related engineering field (Master's preferred).
  • Direct experience with user and technical challenges in AI, Trust & Safety, Risk, or Security Engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Depth in security with AI expertise - Strong understanding of securing systems, leveraging AI for security, and mitigating AI-related security risks.
  • Passion for security innovation - Deep interest in using AI to enhance security while ensuring AI-driven technologies are deployed securely.
  • Leadership in security and AI - Ability to educate stakeholders on security risks, ensuring business growth and security coexist.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills - Ability to work with Engineering, Legal, and Policy teams to drive security initiatives.
  • Public presence in security and AI - Experience in publishing papers, speaking at conferences, or contributing thought leadership in security and AI-related topics.
