Uber for Business (U4B) in Japan is rapidly growing. Japan has been identified as the most critical market segment to scale the business and we are doubling down on our investment starting from Q1 2025.
As par our ambitious strategy and plan for the next 5 years - Till 2030 U4B Growth Initiative - we are looking for a Senior Country Manager who can help us build the local sales and leadership team in Japan. This person will play a crucial role to bring the organization to the next level.

Main Responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader to serve as both the Country Manager and Commercial Leader for our Japan business, which is currently in the rapid growth stage.
The primary objective of this role is to accomplish the following milestones for the Japan market:
(1) drive significant sales growth;
(2) build a strong market presence;
(3) establish high-quality local use cases.
This leader will be the face of the business in Japan, responsible for raising product awareness, engaging with key stakeholders internally and externally, and ensuring the business is maximizing the market potential.
- Drive Sales Growth: Achieve growth in the Japan by building and executing strategic sales plans tailored to local needs.
- Market Development and Breakthrough: Lead the efforts to establish a strong presence in Japan, focusing on scaling high-impact, locally-driven use cases for U4B core services.
- Local Expertise: Utilize deep knowledge and a strong network within Japan's corporate market to identify new opportunities and build strong business relationships. Serve as the bridge between two worlds, offering valuable insights into the Japanese market while modifying global strategies into local relevance.
- Hands-on leadership: Excel in managing both internal and external stakeholders, working collaboratively across functions. This role requires a hands-on approach to leadership, where you will guide the team, oversee critical client relationships, and ensure seamless execution of strategic initiatives.
This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong sales background, an understanding of the Enterprise and Mid-Market corporate sectors, and a passion for building a brand new business from the starting point.
Key Requirements:
- Fluency in English and Japanese communication - speaking, listening, writing and reading.
- Proven leadership and team management experiences, preferably in the tech or platform solutions industries - but open to consider those from the relevant fields.
- Strong knowledge of the Japan market, being able to provide useful insights about what is required to win in the market.
- Excellent sales background and understanding of the Japan Enterprise and Mid Market corporate sectors.
- Proactive, energetic and passionate about building a new business and revolutionizing the indsutry.
