About the Role
We are looking for a Risk Operations Manager to join our team and help strengthen Uber's risk and fraud mitigation efforts across Latin America. This role is critical in managing risk, analyzing fraud patterns, and developing strategies to enhance platform and user trust.
The ideal candidate has a strong analytical background, experience working with risk-related functions in banking, consulting, e-commerce, or payments, and is comfortable working with data to drive decision-making. They should be able to effectively manage stakeholders and translate complex risk insights into actionable strategies for different audiences.
What you will need
- Analyze risk trends, identify fraudulent behaviors, and develop data-driven strategies to mitigate fraudulent transactions including unsettled transactions and chargebacks.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (Decision Science, Product, Engineering, Finance, Safety, Identity, Payments) to improve fraud detection systems and operational processes.
- Build SQL queries and dashboards to extract insights from large datasets and support risk mitigation efforts. Knowledge in python is a plus.
- Support incident management and root cause analysis for fraud-related escalations.
- Stay up to date with emerging fraud trends, and apply insights to enhance risk controls.
- Effectively communicate risk insights, findings, and strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, bridging the gap between fraud operations and business objectives.

Basic qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in risk, fraud, payments, consulting, banking, digital marketplaces or e-commerce platforms.
- Strong SQL proficiency-ability to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets.
- Advanced English level, both written and verbal is a must.
- Experience working with fraud prevention, payment risk, or chargeback processes.
Preferred qualifications
- Investigative mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify patterns, and drive insights.
- Knowledge of fintech industry trends in Mexico is a plus.
- Python proficiency is a plus.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills to present risk findings effectively.
