About the Role
Uber is seeking a Public Safety Liaison to join our team in Brazil. This role is vital for supporting internal stakeholders, the Global Public Safety Response Team, and liaising with law enforcement.
In this dynamic role, you will actively engage with law enforcement, fostering trust and enhancing safety across Uber's platforms while protecting data privacy.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Act as the regional point of contact for law enforcement engagement on critical safety-related cases impacting Uber's platforms
- Identify gaps/opportunities to drive safety insights and analysis.
- Promote safety and build trust with internal stakeholders and law enforcement agencies.
- Enhance business growth through cross-functional partnerships with stakeholders from the Legal, Product, Operational, Safety, and other internal teams on all substantive law enforcement criminal matters.
- Develop and maintain law enforcement contact points in the area of responsibilities.
- Promote data privacy
- Liaise with criminal investigators during complex and critical investigations, and Uber stakeholders, as required.
- Inform response to safety, business, and reputational risks following critical incidents.
- Be available for after-hours assistance to team members responding to 24/7 emergencies.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders, including regional Legal, Policy, Safety Communications, Safety Product, etc.
- Be prepared for travel within the area of responsibility.

Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in complex fraud investigations, focusing on data-driven analysis and large-scale schemes
- Good understanding of how to conduct data analysis and connection to criminal investigations.
- Expertise in criminal investigations, preferably within policing agencies, legal, prosecution, or data protection authorities.
- Fluent Portuguese and advanced proficiency in English
- Able to articulate a depth of understanding of the regional legal process for criminal investigations, the value of data privacy, and ethics.
- Analytical skills: Proficiency in data analysis and advanced technical skills using SQL
- Knowledge and experience related to criminal investigations and data protection legislation.
- Good understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks within the area of responsibility.
- Well-versed in Uber's business models, products, and data disclosure privacy policy.
- Confident and articulate communicator both 1:1 and when presenting to an audience.
Bonus Points
- Advanced proficiency in Spanish
- Preferably have conducted criminal investigations in conjunction with public/private partnerships.
- Subject matter expert in regional data disclosure obligations.
